The Saudi Noor Program for Fighting Blindness in The Gambia is Completed, Says KSrelief

Successful Completion of Saudi Noor Program: KSrelief concluded its Saudi Noor Voluntary Program in Farafenni, The Gambia, providing eye care services from December 26 to 31, 2024.


Banjul, January 04, 2025 — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has successfully concluded its Saudi Noor Voluntary Program aimed at combating blindness in Farafenni, The Gambia. The program, which took place from December 26 to 31, 2024, brought together a dedicated team of medical professionals, volunteering their time and expertise to address eye-related health challenges in the region.


During the six-day initiative, the volunteer medical team carried out extensive eye examinations, evaluating a total of 3,655 patients. In addition to these screenings, the team distributed 750 pairs of eyeglasses to individuals in need, offering them a chance to restore or enhance their vision. Furthermore, the medical team performed 196 successful eye surgeries, providing life-changing treatments to patients suffering from cataracts, glaucoma, and other serious eye conditions.


This program is part of a broader effort by KSrelief to support health and humanitarian initiatives in countries facing critical medical challenges. As part of Saudi Arabia's longstanding commitment to global humanitarian efforts, the Saudi Noor Voluntary Program reflects the Kingdom's dedication to improving healthcare access, particularly for those suffering from preventable conditions like blindness.
