RIYADH, March 28, 2025: The Supreme Court has called on Muslims across Saudi Arabia to observe the crescent moon of Shawwal on the evening of Saturday, March 29, 2025, corresponding to Ramadan 29, 1446.
In its announcement on Thursday, the Supreme Court urged anyone who spots the crescent moon with the naked eye or binoculars to report their sighting to the nearest court and register their testimony.
The statement read: "The Supreme Court requests all Muslims across the Kingdom to look for the Shawwal crescent moon on Saturday evening. If anyone sights it, they should report to the nearest court to register their testimony or contact the nearest center for guidance in reaching the court. The Supreme Court hopes that those who can sight it will pay attention to this matter and join the committees established in all regions for this purpose, seeking reward and recompense for their participation, promoting cooperation in righteousness and piety, which benefits all Muslims."
The sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon marks the end of Ramadan, which began on March 1 this year.
