Language and Cultural Immersion: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has welcomed its second cohort from the Abjad Center, offering non-native speakers an immersive learning experience in Arabic, complemented by cultural exposure to Saudi traditions and heritage.

Riyadh, December 24, 2024 — The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has proudly welcomed the second cohort of students from the Abjad Center for Teaching Arabic. Representing over 30 countries from around the world, this group of students will embark on an immersive, in-person language-learning journey designed to enhance their Arabic communication skills. The program offers an engaging and culturally enriching environment, helping students achieve effective communication in Arabic while promoting societal integration.

This new cohort follows the outstanding success of the first group of students who graduated from the Abjad Center, showcasing the high quality of the program’s curriculum and the academy's commitment to language excellence. The center’s innovative approach to teaching Arabic has attracted significant interest, drawing over 16,000 applicants from 34 countries. After a highly competitive selection process, 132 students were chosen to ensure a personalized and high-quality educational experience. The decision to limit class sizes enables the academy to maintain a focused, student-centered environment, where each participant can thrive and progress effectively.

The curriculum at the Abjad Center follows an integrated, unit-based structure, meticulously designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Arabic language. Built around the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the program covers essential language skills including phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, and orthography. This approach equips students with the knowledge to not only grasp the linguistic components of Arabic but also to develop the practical ability to use the language confidently in speaking, writing, and in diverse communication contexts.

Beyond language acquisition, the program also places significant emphasis on cultural immersion, helping students gain a deeper appreciation of Arab and Saudi culture. The Abjad Center takes pride in introducing its students to the rich heritage of Saudi Arabia, offering educational experiences that familiarize learners with the country’s traditions, customs, and historical landmarks. Through guided tours and educational trips, students not only expand their Arabic vocabulary but also gain insight into the cultural and social contexts in which the language is used, enriching their overall learning experience. These activities help participants understand the practical application of Arabic terminology in fields such as business, history, and tourism.

The Abjad Center, along with the King Salman Global Academy, aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Arabic language and Saudi culture on a global scale. Both institutions are dedicated to supporting and promoting the Arabic language, making it accessible to non-native speakers in an engaging and interactive environment. The center’s approach is rooted in providing a holistic learning experience, where students not only master the language but also gain the cultural awareness necessary to engage meaningfully in diverse global contexts.

By continuing to build on the success of its initial cohorts, the Abjad Center for Teaching Arabic reaffirms its role as a leading institution in promoting Arabic language education worldwide. The program not only supports language learning but also strengthens international ties, fostering cultural exchange and global dialogue. As Saudi Arabia positions itself as a hub for education and cultural diplomacy, initiatives like the Abjad Center play a key role in advancing the Kingdom’s vision of making the Arabic language an integral part of the global cultural fabric.
