Cairo, February 23, 2025 – The Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has strongly condemned the controversial statements made by the Israeli prime minister suggesting the transfer of Palestinians to Saudi Arabia. In a firm response, Aboul Gheit described the rhetoric as not only unacceptable but also completely disconnected from the reality of the Palestinian struggle and the broader Middle East peace process.

Aboul Gheit emphasized that the notion of forcibly displacing Palestinians is an affront to international law and a blatant violation of their fundamental rights. He reiterated the Arab League's unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue, which has long advocated for the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This statement comes amidst ongoing regional tensions and further underscores the Arab League's commitment to safeguarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Secretary General's condemnation is seen as a strong affirmation of the Arab world’s collective position on the matter, highlighting the importance of a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, one that respects Palestinian sovereignty and self-determination.
