Riyadh, December 25, 2024 – The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) office in Senegal has successfully concluded a specialized training program for orphan supervisors, a key initiative designed to enhance the care and well-being of orphans in the region. The program, organized in partnership with the University of Minnesota’s Senegal branch, saw expert professors from the university provide invaluable training to participants, focusing on a wide range of critical topics essential for the effective supervision and support of orphans.
The training program covered various vital areas, starting with the rights of orphans as outlined under Islamic principles and international laws, ensuring that supervisors understand their moral and legal responsibilities. The program also delved into the psychological needs of orphans, providing in-depth guidance on addressing emotional challenges faced by children who have lost their parents. Particular attention was given to helping orphans deal with common issues such as fear and social withdrawal, which can often lead to long-term emotional and behavioral difficulties if left unaddressed.
Moreover, the course provided practical tools and strategies aimed at improving the care provided to orphans, with a strong emphasis on educational techniques that can foster both their academic and social development. These tools were designed to equip orphan supervisors with the knowledge and resources necessary to create a nurturing environment that promotes healing, growth, and stability for these vulnerable children.
Participants expressed their deep gratitude for the program, highlighting the immense value of the insights they gained. They emphasized how the training equipped them with new skills and perspectives that would greatly improve their ability to support orphans in their care. Many also praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, particularly for orphans, which is reflected in the Kingdom’s continued support for such initiatives worldwide.
This training program is a testament to the Kingdom’s dedication to improving the lives of orphans and marginalized communities, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in humanitarian aid and social welfare. The success of the initiative not only contributes to the well-being of orphans in Senegal but also serves as an example of the impactful international collaborations led by Saudi-based organizations such as WAMY, further solidifying the Kingdom’s role in fostering positive global change.
