The Social Affairs Minister of the New Syrian Administration Meets with the KSrelief Team in Damascus

Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Fadi Al-Qassem met with KSrelief in Damascus to discuss coordination on delivering humanitarian aid and collaboration with local civil society organizations.

Damascus, January 6, 2025 — Fadi Al-Qassem, the newly appointed Minister of Social Affairs and Labor for Syria, met on Sunday with a team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Damascus to discuss ongoing humanitarian efforts and explore effective means of delivering much-needed relief aid to the Syrian people. The meeting, which was attended by Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Harees, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Syria, focused on strengthening coordination between KSrelief and local civil society organizations in Syria to ensure the timely and efficient distribution of aid across the country.


The discussions centered on addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of the Syrian population, particularly in light of the ongoing challenges the country continues to face due to years of conflict and economic hardship. Both parties emphasized the importance of collaboration to improve the situation on the ground, focusing on areas such as food security, healthcare, shelter, and overall relief support.


Minister Al-Qassem expressed deep appreciation for the generous and continued assistance provided by Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, which has been instrumental in alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people. He commended the Kingdom's prompt and effective response to the evolving humanitarian crisis in Syria, acknowledging KSrelief’s pivotal role in delivering essential aid across various sectors. Al-Qassem also underscored the importance of continued international cooperation and support, noting that Syria’s recovery depends on the collective efforts of the international community, including the vital contribution of KSrelief.
