Cairo, March 09, 2025 — Mohammed Al Yamahi, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, has strongly condemned the recent attacks carried out by armed groups targeting Syria’s security forces. The attacks, which have resulted in multiple casualties and injuries, have further heightened concerns about the ongoing security situation in the country. In a statement released today, Al Yamahi expressed deep dismay over the violence, reiterating the Arab Parliament’s firm stance against such acts of aggression and terror that destabilize the region.

Al Yamahi affirmed the Arab Parliament's unwavering support for Syria's national institutions, emphasizing the parliament's rejection of any attempts to undermine the country’s security and stability. He condemned external interventions, highlighting that foreign interference in Syria's internal affairs only exacerbates the situation and undermines efforts toward peace and reconstruction. The Speaker’s statement underscores the Arab Parliament's commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that any threats to civil peace and national unity must be firmly opposed.

The Arab Parliament’s speaker also reaffirmed the organization's strong backing for all initiatives that aim to enhance Syria's security, stability, and long-term recovery. Al Yamahi emphasized the need for Syria to successfully navigate its current transitional phase, which remains fraught with challenges. He called for concerted efforts from all regional and international actors to support Syria’s transition towards a peaceful, prosperous future.

In addition to condemning the violence, Al Yamahi expressed the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with the Syrian people. He reiterated the parliament’s support for their aspirations for peace, development, and stability, acknowledging the tremendous suffering Syrians have endured over the years. He pledged that the Arab Parliament would continue to stand by Syria during this difficult period, advocating for initiatives that promote a secure environment conducive to recovery and sustainable development.

Through his statement, Al Yamahi made it clear that the Arab Parliament remains resolute in its commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, stability, and security, emphasizing that only through unity and cooperation can the country overcome its challenges and work toward a brighter future. The Speaker’s comments reflect the broader regional support for Syria’s efforts to rebuild and restore peace, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to support the nation’s recovery.
