Riyadh, February 04, 2025 – King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Supervisor General, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, officially inaugurated the Saudi Amal Volunteer Program today, an initiative designed to provide critical support to the people of Syria. The event, held in Riyadh, was attended by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji, alongside a number of other distinguished officials from various sectors of the Saudi government.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Al Rabeeah emphasized that the Saudi Amal Volunteer Program represents a continuation of Saudi Arabia’s deep-rooted commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people. This new volunteer-driven initiative will spearhead 104 distinct campaigns aimed at addressing a broad range of challenges in Syria, including medical and surgical care, as well as educational and economic empowerment activities. These campaigns will draw upon the expertise and dedication of over 3,000 Saudi volunteers from across the Kingdom. With a focus on 45 specialized medical and training areas, the program is poised to contribute an impressive 218,500 volunteer hours in its first phase alone.
Dr. Al Rabeeah further revealed that the first phase of the program would begin tomorrow, with three initial volunteer missions being deployed to Syria. These early campaigns will serve as the foundation for what is expected to be an ongoing, wide-reaching humanitarian effort designed to bring relief to the many communities in need.
Acknowledging the significance of these efforts, Dr. Al Rabeeah credited the unwavering guidance and support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, in championing such initiatives. The program aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes humanitarian engagement, volunteerism, and regional solidarity.
Dr. Al Rabeeah also expressed deep gratitude to the various ministries, including Interior, National Guard, Defense, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Human Resources and Social Development, Health, Education, and Media, for their critical collaboration in ensuring the success of the Saudi Amal Volunteer Program. Special thanks were also extended to KSrelief’s partners—organizations, institutions, universities, and non-profits—that have worked tirelessly alongside the center to bring this program to fruition. Together, their collective efforts reflect a shared dedication to providing sustainable and impactful support for the people of Syria during a time of immense hardship.
The launch of the Saudi Amal Volunteer Program marks another milestone in Saudi Arabia's long-standing commitment to international humanitarian aid, underscoring the Kingdom’s leadership role in providing assistance to communities affected by conflict and crisis. Through volunteerism, collaboration, and a holistic approach to aid, the program will play a vital part in fostering long-term stability and rebuilding lives in Syria.
