Riyadh, February 03, 2025 – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, welcomed Syrian Arab Republic President Ahmed al-Sharaa at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh today for a significant meeting aimed at fostering stronger ties and discussing pressing issues affecting Syria and the broader region.


The meeting began with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman extending his heartfelt congratulations to President al-Sharaa on assuming the presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic. The Crown Prince expressed his best wishes for the President's success in fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Syria during this pivotal period.


In response, President al-Sharaa expressed his sincere gratitude to the Crown Prince for his kind words and acknowledged the Kingdom’s consistent support for Syria and its people. He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two nations, highlighting the historical relationship and mutual respect between Saudi Arabia and Syria.


The two leaders then turned their focus to the latest developments in Syria. They discussed the ongoing efforts to restore stability and security in the country, a key concern for both nations and the broader international community. On the Saudi side, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of State and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State and Cabinet Member Mohammed bin Abdulmalik Al Al-Sheikh, President of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan, Royal Court Advisor Khalid bin Farid Hadrawi, and Saudi Ambassador to Syria Dr. Faisal Al-Majfel were present. On the Syrian side, the meeting was attended by Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, Director of the President’s Private Office Abdulrahman Salama, and several other senior officials.


This high-level meeting highlights the deepening cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Syria, with both sides committed to enhancing bilateral relations, supporting Syria’s stability, and working together to address regional challenges.
