Makkah, March 30, 2025 – The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque announced the successful completion of its operational plan for Ramadan 1446 AH, aimed at improving services and facilities for millions of worshippers and Umrah performers.
Key accomplishments included the introduction of a free hair-cutting service, enhanced luggage storage, increased availability of electric carts, and improved facilities for those observing itikaf. Efficient crowd management and extensive iftar services further contributed to the plan’s success.
The authority also highlighted advancements in guidance services, such as multilingual support, digital resources, and the operation of children’s hospitality centers.
Operational services at both holy mosques were strengthened, particularly in the last 10 days of Ramadan, with 24/7 access to Zamzam water, optimized entry procedures, and dedicated entrances.
Additional reporting teams were deployed, and essential systems—including escalators, air conditioning, and lighting—were maintained. Restroom facilities were upgraded, while environmental safety measures and weather monitoring were implemented.
The authority acknowledged the collaboration with other government agencies, which was instrumental in the successful execution of the Ramadan plan.
