The UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for the Ocean meets with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

They discussed potential collaboration between Saudi Arabia and the United Nations in various areas, particularly those related to oceans and marine resources.
Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, met with Peter Thomson, Special Envoy for the Ocean for the United Nations Secretary-General.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir welcomed Special Envoy for the Ocean for the UN Secretary-General Peter Thomson.



Taking held in San José, Costa Rica, the High-Level Event on Ocean Action.



They talked about possible UN-Saudi Arabian cooperation in several spheres, especially those connected to seas and marine resources.



San José, 9 June 2024: On the sidelines of the High-Level Event on Ocean Action, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, member of the Cabinet, and Climate Affairs Envoy Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir paid a courtesy call to Peter Thomson, Special Envoy for the Ocean for the Secretary-General of the United Nations.  The conference was held at San José, Costa Rica. They discussed throughout the conference how Saudi Arabia and the UN may cooperate in several spheres, most importantly those concerning oceans and marine resources. Attending the conference were Ambassador Khaled Al-Anqari, Director General of the Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Qurban, Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Wildlife, and Dr. Hassan Al-Ansari, Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Peru.
