Makkah, August 23, 2024 – The 44th annual King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation concluded with great enthusiasm and profound gratitude from participants. The prestigious event, held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, celebrated the exceptional talents of Quran reciters from around the world, culminating in an emotional and rewarding closing ceremony.


The winners of this year's competition were honored with a substantial prize of 500,000 Saudi Riyals, a testament to the Kingdom's commitment to supporting and promoting the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran. The announcement of the winners was met with overwhelming joy and heartfelt appreciation from the participants, who expressed their deep thanks to the Saudi leadership for their steadfast support.


Jaber bin Hussein Al-Maliki from Saudi Arabia, who emerged as the top winner in the competition’s second category, shared his elation, saying, "The feeling of joy is overwhelming and beyond words." Al-Maliki also took pride in the fact that the competition is named after the founder of the nation, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, highlighting the significance of the event in honoring the legacy of the nation's founder.


Anas bin Ateeq from Bangladesh, who won first place in the third category, praised the high level of competition and the remarkable talent displayed by contestants from around the globe. He acknowledged the international panel of judges, representing diverse nations, for their role in ensuring a fair and rigorous evaluation process.


Sulaiman Sylla from Mali, who secured fifth place in the third category, extended his gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for their unwavering support and dedication to the Holy Quran and its reciters. Sylla also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance for organizing such a prestigious international event. He prayed for Allah’s protection over the Kingdom and for the continued security and stability of all Muslim nations.
