Jeddah, 2 June 2024. As part of the preparations for this year's Hajj, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority Medical Supply and Equipment Unit has provided medical consumable boxes to ambulances participating in the Hajj. Three primary categories of medical supplies are typically given to each ambulance. Ten million medical consumables have been provided in more than 10,000 crates by the Medical Supply Unit. A reserve stockpile of about 5 million medical supplies is also on hand at supply sites during this period. This guarantees that support in the field is constant and continuing. In addition to twenty to thirty standard emergency patients, the three-category consumables box system can handle fifteen to twenty acute and urgent cases that need to be attended to right away. Additionally, every ambulance is outfitted with necessary tools such limb immobilization devices, planks, beverages, an oxygen cylinder, shock devices, and instruments for reading vital signs.
