Thrilling Competition Continues at Asia Triathlon Championship in Jubail

Saudi Arabia's hosting of this major triathlon event highlights its growing role in promoting regional sports and developing young athletic talent.
The Asia Triathlon Junior, U23 & Mixed Relay Championship continued at Jubail's Dareen Beach, attracting 240 athletes and large crowds for a second day of competition, organized by the Saudi Triathlon Federation.

Jubail, November 11, 2024 – Dareen Beach in Jubail has been alive with excitement as 240 male and female athletes from various nationalities and age groups compete in the prestigious Asia Triathlon Junior, U23 & Mixed Relay Championship. Organized by the Saudi Triathlon Federation, the event entered its second day yesterday, captivating spectators with intense competition and impressive athletic performances.


The day began with the elite women’s category for under-23 athletes, a highlight that saw Korea’s Ga Yeon Park emerge victorious, securing first place in a fiercely competitive race. Hong Kong, China's Cade Wright claimed second, while Japan’s Mako Hiraizumi took third, Indonesia’s Martina Ayu Partiwi finished fourth, and Japan’s Himeka Sato rounded out the top five.


Following the women’s race, the elite men’s category for under-23 athletes took center stage, with Robin Elg from Hong Kong, China, leading the pack to clinch first place. Kazakhstan’s Alexandr Ten and Yegor Krupyakov finished in second and third positions, respectively. Japan’s Amu Omuro secured fourth place, followed closely by Indonesia’s Rashif Amila Yaqin, who completed the top five finishers in this competitive event.


The junior categories brought further excitement and high-caliber performances. In the junior women’s category, Japan’s Kanade Sugiura and Ayame Hayashi showcased exceptional talent, claiming first and second place. Hong Kong, China's Pauline Courret finished in third, Korea’s Seoeun Park took fourth, and Japan’s Rio Noda placed fifth, demonstrating the strength and promise of Asia’s emerging triathletes.


In the junior men’s category, Japan’s Takuto Oshima delivered an impressive performance, seizing first place. He was followed by Kazakhstan’s Arlan Zhanabay in second and Japan’s Kazuna Asanuma in third. Kazakhstan’s Ali Zhanat took fourth place, and Indonesia’s Bima Muslim Perdana completed the top five, marking a successful and competitive day for the junior men’s group.


The Asia Triathlon Championship has attracted large crowds and top-tier competitors, underscoring the growing interest in triathlon sports across the region. By hosting this international event, Saudi Arabia continues to establish itself as a key venue for global athletic gatherings, showcasing its commitment to promoting diverse sports and nurturing talent among young athletes.
