Riyadh, January 02, 2025 – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to host the 37th edition of the Italian Super Cup, which kicks off tomorrow at Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh. This marks the fifth time Saudi Arabia has had the honor of hosting the prestigious tournament, a testament to the country’s growing role as a hub for international sporting events. The competition, organized by the Ministry of Sport, will run until January 6, bringing together some of the most renowned football clubs from Italy for an exciting showcase of European football.

This year’s Italian Super Cup features four of Italy’s top football teams in a knockout format: Inter Milan, the reigning Italian League champions; AC Milan, who finished as league runners-up last season; Juventus, the Italian Cup champions; and Atalanta, who secured the runner-up position in the Italian Cup. The high-profile matchups promise to deliver an intense display of skill and competition among some of Italy's most storied football clubs.

The tournament will commence with a semi-final matchup between Inter Milan and Atalanta tomorrow, followed by a clash between AC Milan and Juventus the next day. The victors from both semi-final matches will then compete for the coveted Italian Super Cup trophy in what promises to be a thrilling final.

This year’s event is part of Saudi Arabia's broader sports strategy outlined in the Vision 2030 framework, which aims to elevate the nation’s global profile through the hosting of world-class sporting events. The Italian Super Cup is just one example of the Kingdom's continued efforts to diversify its sporting portfolio and invest in the development of sports infrastructure. Through events like this, the Saudi Ministry of Sport is not only fostering a vibrant sports culture within the country but also creating new opportunities for international partnerships and investments.

The Kingdom's hosting of such prestigious events is aligned with the Quality of Life Program, which focuses on enhancing the well-being of Saudi citizens by offering world-class sporting entertainment and inspiring a new generation of athletes. By attracting top-tier competitions like the Italian Super Cup, Saudi Arabia aims to motivate its youth to pursue excellence in sports and contribute to the Kingdom’s ambitions of becoming a global sports powerhouse.

As the tournament unfolds in Riyadh, fans will witness not only world-class football but also the continued transformation of Saudi Arabia’s sporting landscape, as the Kingdom’s role as a leading host for international sporting events solidifies with each passing year.
