Berlin, March 05, 2024, Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, led the Saudi delegation to the International Travel Trade Show in Berlin (ITB Berlin). The ITB Berlin is renowned as the world's largest tourism trade fair, drawing thousands of travel and tourism agencies from across the globe.
During the event, Minister Al-Khateeb participated in the opening ceremony, inaugurated the Saudi pavilion, and engaged in discussions with officials from major international companies, as well as leaders from the World Tourism Organization and the World Travel and Tourism Council.
The Saudi pavilion showcased the Kingdom's vast potential in tourism, highlighting its geographic and environmental diversity, archaeological sites, and modern tourist attractions. More than 45 agencies, representing prominent partners from the public and private sectors, participated in the Saudi exhibition, including tour operators, hotels, tourism and travel companies, and airlines.
The exhibition provided a platform to introduce guests to the Kingdom's tourism achievements, such as welcoming over 100 million tourists in 2023. Saudi Arabia led the United Nations tourism list for major countries in terms of growth in the number of tourists arriving from abroad and ranked first among G20 member states in the number of foreign tourists.
