Riyadh, January 23, 2024, The Ministry of Tourism played a key role in facilitating the signing of an agreement between Sumou Holding Company and Melia Hotels International. This agreement focuses on the operation of a beach resort within the Ajwan "multi-facilities and destinations" Resort, with an estimated value of up to SAR 1.5 billion. The signing ceremony took place as part of the activities of the Real Estate Future Forum, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism for the Empowerment of Tourist Destinations, Mahmoud Abdulhadi, was present at the event.
The Undersecretary highlighted the ministry's sponsorship of the agreement, emphasizing its commitment to actively promoting investments in the tourism sector. He underscored the ministry's dedication to supporting projects that contribute to elevating the Kingdom's status as a global tourist destination. The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) marks a significant stride toward the development of the Eastern Province as a prominent and attractive tourist destination. This initiative aligns with the broader goals of boosting tourism infrastructure and offerings within the Kingdom.
