One person has lost their life, and 11 individuals remain missing following flash floods near Lake Toba in Indonesia's North Sumatra province, as reported by the country's disaster agency BNPB. The incident, triggered by heavy rainfall, occurred on Friday evening, causing extensive damage to houses, a church, a school, and a hotel. Lake Toba, the world's largest volcanic lake and a popular tourist destination, witnessed torrents of water carrying debris, including large stones and trees, burying some houses up to the roof. The BNPB has initiated search and rescue operations with around 350 personnel and heavy equipment, evacuating about 200 people from the affected area.
