Transported by the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Line: 2.2 million pilgrims


- The Al-Mashaer Al-Mugaddasah Metro Line in Saudi Arabia operated efficiently during the 1445 AH Hajj season, transporting over 2.2 million pilgrims on 2,206 journeys across nine stations.


- The train operated continuously for seven days, starting on the seventh of Dhu al-Hijjah and ending with the days of Tashreeq. It transported approximately 29,000 pilgrims on the first day.


- The most significant segment of the journey was from Mina to Arafat, with nearly 292,000 pilgrims being transported. The train also facilitated travel from Arafat to Muzdalifah and from Muzdalifah back to Mina.


Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) announced that the Al-Mashaer Al-Mugaddasah Metro Line was operating efficiently during the 1445 AH Hajj season. The train transported over 2.2 million pilgrims on 2,206 journeys across nine stations in Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina. On June 20, 2024, in Jeddah, the report became public.The train traveled continuously for seven days, beginning on the seventh of Dhu al-Hijjah and concluding with the days of Tashreeq. The train transported approximately 29,000 pilgrims to their destinations on the first day. Trains transported nearly 292,000 pilgrims from Mina to Arafat, marking the most significant segment of the journey. After that, it made it possible for around 305,000 pilgrims to go from Arafat to Muzdalifah, and then, in the opposite direction, over 383,000 pilgrims traveled back from Muzdalifah to Mina.


The Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Line transported a total of around 1.2 million pilgrims during the Days of Tashreeq. The Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Line transported these pilgrims from Mina stations (1, 2, and Muzdalifah 3) to Mina 3 station (Jamarat), providing them with convenient access to the Jamarat Bridge.Dr. Bashar bin Khalid Al-Malik, Chief Executive Officer of SAR, attributed the operation's success to the Saudi authorities' sustained support. He strongly emphasized that the money was essential for the Saudi Arabian Railways (SAR) to effectively serve pilgrims through the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Line and the Haramain High-Speed Railway.
