Tunis, February 22, 2024, Tunisian Prime Minister Ahmed Al-Hachani met with the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Sultan Al-Marshad, and his accompanying delegation in Tunis. The meeting was attended by Tunisian Minister of Finance Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia, Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning Feryel Ouerghi, and the head of the Political and Economic Affairs Department at the Saudi Embassy in Tunisia, Saeed Al-Maliki.
During the meeting, the two sides explored avenues to strengthen development cooperation and discussed the robust ties that have been in place for about 49 years. The SFD has been actively financing development projects and programs across various vital sectors in Tunisia since 1975.
The visit of the SFD's delegation to Tunisia has a specific objective of signing a development loan agreement to fund the renovation and development of the railway for the transport of phosphate in Tunisia. Additionally, the delegation is set to participate in the handover ceremony of several housing units in the Zaghouan governorate. This ceremony is part of an SFD-funded project aimed at supporting social growth and economic prosperity in various Tunisian governorates.
