Riyadh, October 9, 2024 — Tuwaiq Academy proudly celebrated the remarkable achievements of its students in collaboration with Misk Schools, following their success at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) qualifiers held at the Ministry of Education in Riyadh. This prestigious annual event serves as a platform to promote innovations in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), encouraging young minds to push the boundaries of technology.

In a standout performance, students from Tuwaiq Academy and Misk Schools clinched first place at the Kingdom level, securing their qualification for the global competition set to take place in Türkiye. This triumph not only highlights their technical skills but also underscores the commitment of both institutions to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence among students.

Among the award-winning participants, Al-Jawhara Al-Qahtani and Aseel Al-Jasser excelled in the Future Engineers category, where they earned first place by developing and programming an AI robot equipped with self-driving capabilities. Their groundbreaking work demonstrates not only their technical proficiency but also their creativity in addressing real-world challenges through technology. Additionally, fellow students Abdulaziz Al-Hussaini and Abdulaziz Al-Najidi showcased their talents by securing third place in the same category, further emphasizing the depth of skill present at the academy.

In another notable achievement, students Shihana Al-Sahafi and Tala Al-Hazmi earned second place in the Future Innovators category. Their project aligns with this year's WRO theme, “Earth Allies,” which focuses on utilizing modern technologies to create innovative solutions aimed at mitigating the impact of natural disasters and exploring sustainable alternatives for everyday products. Their success positions them as representatives of the Kingdom in the global competition scheduled for November, where they will showcase their ingenuity on an international stage.

The participation of Tuwaiq Academy, in partnership with Misk Schools, is rooted in a shared vision of empowering students with advanced technical skills and achieving excellence in global competitions. This recent success follows an impressive track record for the academy, which, just last May, saw its students garner nine gold medals, a silver medal, and 11 special awards at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Competition and Exhibition (ITEX) held in Malaysia.

As the academy continues to nurture and develop the talents of its students, these achievements reflect a promising future for young innovators and engineers, positioning them at the forefront of technological advancement in the region and beyond.
