Riyadh, August 20, 2024 — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has reinforced its commitment to global humanitarian efforts by signing two significant executive agreements with a civil society organization. These agreements, formalized in Riyadh, are aimed at providing potable water to communities in the Republic of Mali, addressing a critical need for clean and safe water in vulnerable regions.
The agreements were signed by Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at KSrelief. These projects are designed to significantly improve the quality of life for Malian communities by enhancing their access to reliable sources of clean water.
Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Moallem, Director of Health and Environmental Aid at KSrelief, provided details on the scope and impact of the projects. The first project involves the drilling of 16 artesian wells to depths of 100 meters, one artesian well to 120 meters, and five surface wells with depths ranging from 20 to 40 meters. All these wells will be powered by solar energy, a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution, and are expected to benefit approximately 372,304 individuals. This initiative aims to address water scarcity and improve access to clean water in areas where it is most needed.
The second project includes the drilling of two additional artesian wells to 100 meters and three surface wells with depths of 20 to 40 meters. These efforts complement the broader objectives of the humanitarian and relief projects conducted by KSrelief, which focus on water provision and environmental sanitation.
These initiatives are part of a series of humanitarian projects spearheaded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, aimed at delivering essential aid to needy and affected communities around the world. By investing in sustainable water solutions, KSrelief is not only addressing immediate needs but also contributing to long-term improvements in health and living conditions for vulnerable populations.
Overall, the signing of these agreements highlights KSrelief's ongoing dedication to humanitarian work and its role in supporting global efforts to ensure access to clean water and enhance environmental sanitation. The projects reflect a commitment to alleviating suffering and improving the quality of life for communities facing critical challenges.
