Riyadh, October 29, 2023, In a grand ceremony marking the launch of the fourth edition of Riyadh Season, Advisor Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), bestowed the Riyadh Season belt upon Tyson Fury, the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion, following his victory over mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou in the Kingdom Arena.
Riyadh Season 2023, themed "Big Time," kicked off with the presence of notable figures, including diplomatic representatives, artists, athletes, and the prominent Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nasr club. Also in attendance were the legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, the American boxer Lennox Lewis, often referred to as the boxer of the century, and world heavyweight champion Larry Holmes, who held the title for an impressive seven years.
