MADRID March 29, 2025: UEFA has launched an investigation into four Real Madrid players, including Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, for alleged “indecent conduct” during their Champions League last-16 victory over Atletico Madrid.
Madrid stars Antonio Rudiger and Dani Ceballos are also under scrutiny and could face disciplinary action ahead of their quarter-final first leg against Arsenal on April 8.
“A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct by Real Madrid CF players,” the European football governing body announced.
Spanish media reports indicate the probe relates to Madrid players’ post-match celebrations. UEFA and Real Madrid have not yet commented on the matter.
Fifteen-time champions and reigning titleholders Madrid defeated Atletico on penalties at the Metropolitano Stadium on March 12 after a 2-2 aggregate draw.
The match ended in controversy when Atletico’s Julian Alvarez had a penalty disallowed in the shoot-out for allegedly making double contact with the ball.
