UN and KSA Sign Agreement to Fund "Globe" a Riyadh Initiative


- The Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) have signed a $20 million agreement to establish the Riyadh Initiative "GlobE."


- Mazen bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, Chairman of Nazaha, and Ghada Wali, Executive Director of UNODC, signed the agreement.


- The Saudi ambassador to Austria and the permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Dr. Abdullah bin Khaled Toula, was present at the signing.



Riyadh, June 11, 2024. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) have signed an agreement of $20 million to create "GlobE," a platform for exchanging information between members of the Global Operations Network of Law Enforcement Authorities with a focus on anti-corruption work. The agreement was signed by Ghada Wali, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and Mazen bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, Chairman of Nazaha. Dr. Abdullah bin Khaled Toula, who serves as the Saudi ambassador to Austria and the permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, was also present at the signing. Within the context of the Riyadh Initiative, Al-Kahmous expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, for his everlasting support. He emphasized the leadership role that the Kingdom is playing in enhancing anti-corruption efforts on both the local and international levels in accordance with its Vision 2030 objectives.
