Commitment to Localization: Saudi Arabia aims to localize over 50% of government spending on military equipment by 2030, reinforcing its focus on developing a self-sufficient defense industry and fostering economic growth.
Advanced Drone Production: The United Defense Company in Buraidah has successfully produced eight types of AI-equipped drones, with an annual capacity of 300 units and potential to double that output.

Buraidah, October 18, 2024 – The United Defense Company factory, a prominent subsidiary of Qudra Holding Group and a leader in the military, defense, and security sectors, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully producing eight advanced drone models integrated with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and high-resolution imaging systems. This development marks a notable advancement in the Kingdom's pursuit of self-sufficiency in defense manufacturing.

Situated in the Second Industrial City of Buraidah, the factory is strategically positioned to meet the growing demand for innovative drone solutions. With an annual production capacity currently set at approximately 300 drones across various types, the facility has the potential to scale this output to an impressive 600 drones per year, further solidifying its role in the global defense landscape.

Factory Manager Fahd Al-Shammari lauded the achievements of the United Defense Company, attributing its success to the proactive policies and regulations instituted by the General Authority for Military Industries. These initiatives have fostered a favorable investment climate, encouraging both domestic and international entities to engage in the burgeoning defense sector. “Our drones, whether developed through technology transfer or indigenous innovation, are entirely Saudi intellectual property, meticulously crafted by our skilled national workforce,” Al-Shammari emphasized.

In a strategic move to enhance research and development capabilities, the company is in the process of establishing a new headquarters at Qassim University, following the signing of a comprehensive research and development agreement. This partnership aims to cultivate academic collaboration and drive innovation in drone technology, further positioning the factory at the forefront of the industry.

The United Defense Company’s drone production extends beyond military applications, encompassing a range of civilian uses such as industrial monitoring, environmental assessment, desertification studies, and animal identification. This dual-focus on both military and civilian sectors highlights the factory's commitment to contributing to various facets of national development and security.

Saudi Arabia's strategic emphasis on developing its military industries is driven by a vision to strengthen the national economy and promote sustainable prosperity. Under the guidance of its wise leadership, the Kingdom has set ambitious goals to localize over 50 percent of government spending on military equipment and services by 2030. This directive not only aims to enhance national capabilities but also to create a robust framework for local industries and attract international partnerships, thereby bolstering the sector’s growth.

As the United Defense Company continues to innovate and expand its capabilities, it stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing its military and defense industries while fostering economic resilience and technological independence.
