Ankara, on May 24, 2024, In the 'Makkah Route' program, which is beneficial to 1445 countries, including Turkey through Ankara Esenboga International Airport, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) serves as a technological and digital enabler. The National Information Center, representing the SDAIA, has been working to activate the relevant technical systems under direct supervision, ensuring the pilgrims' lounge at the airport meets the highest approved international standards and specifications.
Furthermore, they are in charge of operating and managing "mobile bags," which guide Turkish pilgrims through the immigration process. Furthermore, the San Diego Area Information Authority (SDAIA) has employed artificial intelligence-based technologies to create a tablet that functions as a "mobile counter." We designed this tablet to simplify procedures for pilgrims in general, pilgrims with disabilities, and older people in particular, while considering their unique circumstances.
The 'Makkah Route' Initiative, a crucial component of the Pilgrim Experience Program under the Ministry of Interior, exemplifies the collaborative efforts of several government ministries and authorities. The Saudi Data and AI Authority, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat Tax and Customs Authority, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are all working together to carry out this initiative, which is currently in its sixth year of operation. This joint endeavor also includes the ministries of health, Hajj and Umrah, and media.
