Riyadh, December 5, 2024 – In a significant diplomatic meeting, Vice Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Eng. Waleed bin Abdul Karim El-Khereiji, welcomed the special envoy for Horn of Africa affairs from the Federal Republic of Germany’s Foreign Ministry, Heiko Nitzschke, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh today. The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss a range of topics of mutual interest, further strengthening the diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Germany.
During the reception, the two officials engaged in detailed discussions about regional developments, with a particular focus on the Horn of Africa. Given the strategic importance of the region, the talks aimed to explore ways to enhance cooperation and address shared challenges. The discussions underscored both countries’ commitment to peace, security, and stability in the Horn of Africa, as well as their desire to foster deeper diplomatic and economic relations.
The meeting was also attended by Michael Kindsgrab, the Federal Republic of Germany’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who has played a key role in facilitating diplomatic relations between the two nations. The presence of Ambassador Kindsgrab further emphasized the importance of this engagement and the mutual interest in strengthening bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and Germany.
As part of its broader foreign policy, Saudi Arabia has continued to engage with international partners to address key regional issues, and today’s meeting marks a significant step in enhancing cooperation with Germany, particularly in the context of the Horn of Africa.
