Vice Minister of Sport Crowns Winners in the Battle of the Giants Event


Riyadh, October 24, 2024 — The PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants, a prestigious mixed martial arts (MMA) event, concluded successfully today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Organized by the Saudi Mixed Martial Arts Federation in partnership with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), the event was conducted under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting sports and entertainment on a global scale.


During the exciting culmination of the event, Vice Minister of Sport Bader Alkadi presented the heavyweight championship title to Cameroonian fighter Francis Ngannou, recognizing his exceptional performance. In addition, Brazilian MMA star Cris Cyborg was awarded the women's featherweight title, while American Johnny Eblen claimed victory in the middleweight category, showcasing a diverse array of talent from around the world.


Ngannou, who is not only a participant but also the reigning world heavyweight champion, expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Saudi Arabia for hosting this significant event. He remarked on the hospitality he experienced, stating that he felt at home in the Kingdom and deeply appreciated the warm welcome from fans and officials alike. The successful event marks another step forward in Saudi Arabia's journey to becoming a key player in the global sports arena.
