Vice Transport Minister Discusses Enhancing Cooperation with Suez Canal Head in Egypt Visit

The Saudi delegation toured the Suez Canal, learning about its advanced technologies, operational strategies, and future vision for its development.
Saudi Vice Minister of Transport Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih met with Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority Chairman Osama Rabie to strengthen maritime tourism and transport ties.

On September 12, 2024, in Cairo, Saudi Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services,

and Acting President of the Transport General Authority (TGA), Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih, met with the Chairman and Managing Director of Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Osama Rabie, in Ismailia. Al-Rumaih was accompanied by Mohammed bin Ali Al-Nasser, CEO of the Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA), and a Saudi delegation during this official visit to Egypt.


The meeting highlighted the growing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egypt in maritime tourism, focusing on improving the processes for yacht and cruise ship entry and navigation to key Red Sea projects. Discussions also covered enhancing maritime transport for both passengers and goods, aiming to foster stronger ties in the sector.


As part of the visit, Al-Rumaih and his delegation toured the Suez Canal, where they were briefed on its cutting-edge technologies, operational strategies, and future plans for the canal's development.
