- The Religious Affairs Presidency of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque have put in place some voluntary works at the Holy Mosques in Makkah.
- The aim is to make use of volunteers in elevating national capabilities, who will in turn help the faithful at the Prophet’s Mosque.
- To solve this, we need more collaboration with all these people: The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, plus four other people who are top officials from other countries too; on top of that there’s even National Center for the Nonprofit Sector which has its own website called ncns.gov.sa where you can learn about their activities—so it is high time for us to act urgently if we want change
"On June 4, 2024, in Makkah, the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque made an announcement regarding the availability of volunteer opportunities at the Two Holy Mosques."In order to provide assistance to pilgrims and guests who come to the Prophet's Mosque, the objective is to recruit volunteers and make investments in national skills and competencies. The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the National Center for the Nonprofit Sector, and a volunteer incubator in Saudi Arabia are collaborating on this. The latter establishes a secure setting that regulates the relationship between organizations that provide opportunities for volunteers and those who actively participate in volunteer work inside the Kingdom.
Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, who is the head of religious affairs at both the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, emphasized the importance of volunteer labor in fostering social values as well as in establishing societies that are more cohesive and cooperative. He made a case for the culture of volunteerism being deeply embedded in Islamic history, arguing that it was both the Quran and hadith which have formed this ethos of voluntary hard work among Muslims.
By advocating for social responsibility at the level of both individuals and groups, Dr.Al-Sudais noted that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals are aligned with the goals of volunteer work, which has resulted in more than one million people willing to offer their time. Furthermore, he noted that the opportunity to volunteer at the Two Holy Mosques will enhance the culture of volunteering and its influence on both individuals and society. We will accomplish this while respecting and upholding the principles of Islam and society, along with the dignity of service. In addition, he mentioned that the religious system provides services that are specifically geared toward the care of old people and people with special needs, and that it also encourages participation in a variety of religious events.
