Makkah, Saudi Arabia – March 16, 2025, As part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to enhance services during the holy month of Ramadan, Civil Defense volunteers are playing a vital role in supporting Umrah performers and visitors at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. These volunteers are actively contributing to the efficient execution of civil defense operations, providing crucial humanitarian services, and offering guidance to pilgrims in the corridors and courtyards of these two revered sites.

The involvement of volunteers is part of a broader initiative led by the General Directorate of Civil Defense, which encourages citizens to participate in volunteer activities that enhance the safety, well-being, and overall experience of those visiting the holy sites. By offering their time and expertise, the volunteers are helping to ensure that the spiritual journey of millions of Umrah performers and visitors is as smooth and secure as possible.

The presence of the volunteers is especially significant during Ramadan, when the number of pilgrims and worshippers at these holy sites increases substantially. Volunteers assist with a wide range of responsibilities, including crowd management, emergency response, and providing information to ensure that visitors can perform their rituals safely. Their efforts not only contribute to the overall safety and security of the holy sites but also foster a spirit of community service and compassion, which is deeply rooted in the Islamic values of Ramadan.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense has emphasized the importance of volunteer participation in achieving the goals of its activities, which include enhancing the safety infrastructure, supporting emergency preparedness, and delivering comprehensive services to the people.

Through their active participation, the volunteers are also reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to providing the best possible services to visitors, ensuring that the spiritual journey of those coming to Makkah and Madinah is both memorable and secure. The collaboration between the Civil Defense and volunteers highlights the Kingdom's dedication to serving the needs of its citizens and the international community during the holy month of Ramadan.
