Riyadh, January 23, 2025 – The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has successfully concluded the Regional Youth Forum for Latin America, held in São Paulo, Brazil. Under the theme "Creating Volunteer Work in Latin America," the event proved to be a momentous gathering for young Muslim leaders and activists across the region. Organized by the Latin American youth committee, in coordination with WAMY's office in Brazil and its youth volunteer work department, the three-day forum served as an influential platform for fostering volunteerism, leadership, and community development among Latin American youth.
The forum attracted dozens of young participants from a broad spectrum of Islamic associations, student unions, and youth centers from across Latin America. This diverse representation ensured a rich exchange of experiences, cultural perspectives, and knowledge among participants, contributing to the forum’s overall success. Throughout the event, attendees engaged in a series of training courses designed to enhance their skills in volunteerism and community service. The training sessions were complemented by specialized discussions, offering deeper insights into the challenges and opportunities of volunteer work within the region.
In addition to the educational aspects, the forum featured creative competitions, including short film and media production contests. These activities provided participants with the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity while addressing relevant social issues through various artistic forms. The engaging contests also encouraged participants to collaborate and think outside the box in approaching community development and volunteer work.
The participants expressed their sincere gratitude to WAMY’s General Secretariat in Saudi Arabia for its continued and unwavering support for youth development programs worldwide. Many attendees praised WAMY for its commitment to empowering youth and providing them with opportunities to actively contribute to their communities and nations. The success of the event underscored the importance of initiatives that inspire young people to engage in volunteer work, strengthen social bonds, and foster a sense of responsibility toward their societies.
By bringing together a diverse group of youth leaders and providing them with valuable tools for personal and community development, WAMY's Regional Youth Forum for Latin America highlighted the organization's crucial role in supporting youth empowerment and promoting positive change in the Muslim world. The forum not only celebrated the spirit of volunteerism but also laid the groundwork for future collaborations and initiatives aimed at advancing the interests of young Muslims globally.
