Dakar, February 18, 2024, The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has inaugurated a new development center in the Gossas – Fatick region, situated approximately 400 km away from the capital city of Dakar.
During the ceremonial event commemorating this milestone, Fathi Eid, the Director of WAMY's office in Senegal, emphasized that the center is poised to cater to the needs of over 8,000 families residing in the area and its environs. The facility will encompass essential amenities including a mosque, six classrooms, a mortuary, and four commercial shops.
Eid underscored WAMY's ongoing commitment to establishing development centers across various regions in Senegal, recognizing their pivotal role in addressing a multitude of needs, particularly in education, healthcare, and the provision of clean drinking water.
Several government officials, community leaders, and heads of charitable institutions in Senegal lauded the Kingdom's humanitarian endeavors, particularly in nurturing and supporting youth, while providing resources essential for their advancement, development, and the cultivation of their talents and capabilities.
