Riyadh, April 30, 2024, The National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather advisory detailing significant weather conditions expected in various regions across Saudi Arabia. According to the forecast, strong dust-stirring winds will sweep through several areas, accompanied by moderate to heavy rain along with hailstorms. The affected regions include Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region.
Over the Red Sea, the wind patterns are anticipated to be northwesterly to westerly, with speeds ranging between 12-40 km/h in the northern and central areas. Towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the winds will shift to northwesterly to southwesterly, blowing at speeds of 10-50 km/h. Consequently, wave heights are expected to vary from half a meter to more than two meters, leading to sea conditions ranging from calm to choppy.
In the Arabian Gulf, the winds will predominantly be northeasterly to southeasterly, with speeds ranging from 10-30 km/h in the northern and central parts. The southern portion of the Gulf will experience easterly to northeasterly winds at speeds of 12-50 km/h. Similar to the Red Sea, wave heights in the Arabian Gulf are forecasted to be between half a meter to more than two meters, resulting in varying sea conditions from calm to choppy.
