Aleppo, January 14, 2025 – In a continued effort to support vulnerable communities in Syria, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed shopping vouchers to 2,000 individuals in the town of Jenderes, located in Syria’s Aleppo Governorate, this past Saturday. The initiative is part of the larger Kanaf project, which aims to provide essential winter kits to those in need across Syria, offering both immediate relief and a measure of autonomy in meeting personal needs during the harsh winter months.
The shopping vouchers, each valued to allow beneficiaries to purchase winter clothing of their choice, were provided to selected individuals, enabling them to acquire much-needed warmth and protection as temperatures drop. The beneficiaries were able to visit designated stores to purchase clothing and other winter necessities, ensuring they have the means to protect themselves against the cold in the coming months. This initiative was designed to give families the flexibility to choose their winter apparel, empowering them to address their specific needs.
KSrelief's distribution of winter kits is part of a broader, ongoing commitment by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide humanitarian aid to those suffering from the effects of conflict, poverty, and displacement across the globe. This initiative is not only a crucial intervention in alleviating immediate hardships but also a demonstration of the Kingdom's sustained efforts to offer practical, life-enhancing support to populations in distress.
Through the Kanaf project, KSrelief aims to reduce the suffering of Syrian families, particularly those who have been displaced or are living in regions severely affected by the civil war. The distribution of winter kits is one of many programs designed to provide assistance to individuals facing dire conditions, ranging from food and medical supplies to emergency shelter and education support.
The Kingdom’s humanitarian initiatives, executed through KSrelief, are widely recognized for their scope and effectiveness in reaching those most in need. The program in Jenderes is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to helping those impacted by crises, ensuring that even in the most challenging circumstances, people receive the support they need to rebuild their lives and regain a sense of dignity.
This project reflects the Kingdom's broader humanitarian policy, which emphasizes relief efforts that are both practical and sustainable, directly benefiting communities affected by adversity, and demonstrating the Kingdom's dedication to global humanitarian principles.
