Riyadh, December 22, 2024 – The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance is proudly organizing the second edition of the Holy Quran Memorization Competition in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. This prestigious event is being held in collaboration with the Muslim Commission in Nepal and is supervised by the Saudi Embassy in Kathmandu. The competition is part of ongoing efforts to promote the memorization and understanding of the Holy Quran, as well as to foster stronger cultural and religious ties between Saudi Arabia and Nepal.

Scheduled to take place over several days, the final qualifiers for the competition were held on December 21 and 22, 2024, with the closing ceremony and distribution of awards planned for December 23. The event has garnered significant attention, with over 750 participants, both boys and girls, from a diverse range of Islamic schools, governmental and non-governmental educational centers, and other community organizations across Nepal.

The competition is structured into four distinct categories, designed to accommodate a wide array of age groups and levels of proficiency. Participants will demonstrate their memorization and recitation skills, with a focus on accuracy, fluency, and understanding of the Quranic verses. This approach ensures that the competition is not only a test of memory but also an opportunity for deeper reflection on the Quranic teachings.

The competition offers substantial recognition for excellence, with the top winners receiving cash prizes. Additionally, all participants, as well as the esteemed jury members who are overseeing the proceedings, will be honored with awards and certificates of appreciation. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of those involved in the competition, and it serves as an encouragement for continued efforts in the memorization and study of the Quran.

Through this event, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance aims to inspire a new generation of Quranic scholars in Nepal, while also reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting educational and religious initiatives worldwide. The collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Nepal in hosting this competition further strengthens the bond between the two nations, underscoring a shared commitment to the values of faith, education, and cultural exchange.
