The project aims to provide a safe place, reduce the number of accidents, eliminate the daily obstacles faced by motorists, and improve the road's efficiency. Five million Yemenis rely on this road for daily sustenance. Not only would repairing this key artery assure smooth traffic flow but allow for passage of people and goods, including staple foods and medicines, while reducing travel time and cost. The effort will benefit a variety of businesses, including those in the education, economics, and services sectors, in addition to having the ability to provide immediate job opportunities.

To further stop water from seeping through the layers of the road surface, it is crucial to create additional drainage channels and maintain the rain drainage system. The SDRPY has been working on 229 projects throughout all the governorates of Yemen, this being only one of them. The Yemeni people benefit from the projects in several sectors such as transport, health, education, energy, water, agriculture, and fisheries. Furthermore, they are highly committed to the development of their country thereby coming in handy in boosting the country’s capacities.
