Riyadh, December 8, 2023, The World Defense Show (WDS) has inked a contract with Airports Cluster 2 Company for the operational management of the exhibition's airport in Riyadh's Malham. The agreement, signed by Cluster 2 Company CEO Eng. Ali Masrahi and WDS Chief Executive Andrew Pearcey are designed to ensure the seamless operation of the airport while upholding high standards of fire protection by approved international norms.
Under the terms of the contract, services for aviation apron management will be provided, and aircraft guidance vehicles will be secured. Eng. Masrahi highlighted the contract's significance in strengthening cooperation between Cluster 2 and WDS, aiming to further their joint efforts and achieve notable accomplishments.
The airport plays a crucial role in the World Defense Show, enhancing the experience for visitors and exhibitors while facilitating the direct arrival of international aircraft designated for the displays. The second edition of WDS, taking place from February 4-8, is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The General Authority for Military Industries organized the event, which serves as a pioneering exhibition in the defense and security industry. The show aligns with the Saudi leadership's aspirations to host globally renowned specialized exhibitions, contributing to the Kingdom's vision outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. This vision aims to localize 50 percent of government spending on military equipment and services, positioning the country as a global host for exhibitions.
