Yemeni Minister praises Saudi Arabia's support and constructive role

Aden, February 10, 2024, Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, expressed deep appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's constructive role in supporting the Yemeni government and its people across various domains.

Minister Al-Eryani specifically lauded the Kingdom's recent launch of the second round of grants aimed at bolstering Yemen's state general budget, amounting to a substantial $250 million. He highlighted the significance of this support in facilitating the Yemeni government's efforts to stabilize the situation, meet its obligations—particularly in terms of paying state employee salaries—and restore economic balance, including the stabilization of the national currency. This initiative, he noted, underscores the Kingdom's steadfast commitment to Yemen's welfare and development.

The minister underscored the Kingdom's consistent support for Yemen, spanning various forms including grants, bank deposits, provision of oil derivatives, and implementation of development projects and initiatives through entities such as the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

Furthermore, Minister Al-Eryani expressed gratitude for the unwavering and generous support extended by the Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. He underscored that this support underscores the Kingdom's steadfast backing of the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government in Yemen, reaffirming the strength of bilateral ties and commitment to fostering stability and prosperity in the region.
