Riyadh, April 18, 2024, The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Duba Port recently intercepted an illicit attempt to smuggle 1,006,518 Captagon pills concealed within a shipment falsely labeled as "pepper and guava." The contraband was being transported into the Kingdom through the port.
Following the successful seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) to apprehend the intended recipient of the confiscated items within the Kingdom, leading to their arrest.
ZATCA emphasized its dedication to bolstering customs oversight over the Kingdom's imports and exports. The authority reiterated its unwavering commitment to thwarting smuggling endeavors, thereby safeguarding societal security.
In an effort to engage the public in combating smuggling activities and safeguarding societal and economic interests, ZATCA encouraged individuals to report suspicious activities.
