Istanbul. May 28, 2024. The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) actively provides customs services to pilgrims traveling via Istanbul as part of the Makkah Route Initiative. This initiative is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and falls under the Pilgrim Experience Programme umbrella.ZATCA intends to expedite customs procedures for pilgrims and their luggage at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. The authority uses cutting-edge security technologies and collaborates with numerous parties.The Makkah Route Initiative is being carried out for the sixth year in conjunction with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, Media, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, ZATCA, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, and the Pilgrim Experience Program.
