ZATCA reminds business taxpayers in Saudi Arabia to submit Withholding Tax returns by March 10

Riyadh, March 5, 2024, The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a reminder to taxpayers in the business sector, who are subject to Withholding Tax (WHT), to submit their tax returns for February by March 10. To facilitate the process, taxpayers can utilize the authority's website, zatca.gov.sa. Failure to meet this deadline may result in a 1% fine for unpaid taxes, accruing every 30 days following the due date.

For additional information regarding Withholding Tax, ZATCA encourages taxpayers to reach out through various channels. These include the call center's unified number 19993, operational 24/7, the X account @Zatca_Care, email at [email protected], or instant chat via ZATCA's website zatca.gov.sa.

Withholding Tax is a regulatory mechanism in the Kingdom whereby a tax is deducted from the total income of non-resident establishments providing services in Saudi Arabia. The rates are specified in Article 68 of the Income Tax Law and Article 63 of its Implementing Regulations. Adhering to these tax regulations ensures compliance and contributes to the effective functioning of the country's tax system.
