ZATCA Requests That Companies File Their May VAT Returns

Businesses with yearly deliveries over SAR 40 million are asked to submit their tax returns for May by the end of the month, according to a request made by the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

Companies should file their tax returns as soon as possible via the ZATCA website or mobile app to avoid paying late filing penalties, which can be as high as 25% of the total amount owed.

The ZATCA provides various channels for businesses to obtain additional VAT information, including a 24/7 call center, social media account, email, and instant chats on their website.

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has asked businesses subject to value-added tax (VAT) with annual deliveries of goods and services exceeding SAR40 million to submit their tax reports for the month of May by the 30th of this month. The fine for late filings can vary from five percent to twenty-five percent of the total tax due. The ZATCA encourages business taxpayers interested in receiving additional VAT information to contact them by calling the unified call center number 19993, available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Moreover, they can reach out to the authority through the “Ask Zakat, Tax, and Customs” account on the platform Leveraging the twitter handle @Zatca_Care, sending an email to [email protected], or using the instant chats on ZATCA's online zatca.gov.sa. Putting very few into the exception, all goods and services that are bought or sold in the kingdom attract Value Added Tax (VAT) which is an indirect tax.
