Riyadh, March 10, 2024, The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has urged entities dealing with goods subject to the Excise Tax Law to submit their tax returns for January and February by March 15. Taxpayers can use the authority's website, zatca.gov.sa, to file returns and avoid a 5% fine for unpaid taxes, accruing every 30 days after the due date. ZATCA encourages businesses seeking more information about the Excise Tax Law to contact the authority through various channels, including the call center (19993), X account @Zatca_Care, email ([email protected]), or instant chat on ZATCA's website. The excise tax targets goods with potential adverse effects on public health or the environment, such as soft drinks, energy drinks, sweetened beverages, tobacco, and its derivatives.
