Riyadh, January 21, 2024, The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is calling upon commercial enterprises with annual revenues exceeding SAR40 million from goods and services, and obligated to pay value-added tax (VAT), to promptly submit their VAT statements for the previous December before the deadline on January 31. To streamline the process, ZATCA recommends the submission of tax statements through their official website, zatca.gov.sa, or utilizing the ZATCA smartphone application. Failure to comply may result in fines ranging from 5% to 25% of the owed tax amount.
To facilitate further inquiries or clarification on VAT-related matters, ZATCA encourages taxpayers in the commercial sector to reach out through various channels. These include the 24/7 call center at 19993, the X account @Zatca_Care, the email address [email protected], or instant chat via the official website, zatca.gov.sa.
VAT, as an indirect tax, applies to the purchase and sale of goods and services by most establishments, with some exceptions. The proactive engagement with ZATCA is essential for businesses to ensure compliance and avoid potential penalties.
